In 2023, as part of the Government’s efforts to achieve a digital economy in Zimbabwe, various Community Information Centers (CICs) were established in villages across the country. One of the CICs that was officially launched was the Chivi Community Information Centre, which was opened by the Minister of ICT, Postal, and Courier Services, Hon. Dr. T.A. Mavetera. CICs are mainly focused on serving the ‘underserved and unserved’ communities as far as ICT is concerned.
